As an artist, I need to rest
“As an artist, I need to rest” is a performance where the artist stands laying down in fetal position on the floor breathing through a long cable, which departs from inside her nostril and ends at the center of the main screen, suspended from the floor. During the performance, she exhales approximately 14,000 digital elements into the suspended screen what results in different abstract compositions projected on the screen. The artist intends to find a symbiosis between herself and her work towards a single unit, the piece.
Sonia Cillari´s work involves the creation of sensorial and perceptual mechanisms in immersive and extended environments. Her interactive installations, which are in the intersection of architecture and performance art have been exhibited and presented internationally.
