Leonardo Solaas

Dreamlines is a non-linear, interactive visual experience. The user enters one or more words that defi ne the subject of a dream he would like to dream. The system looks into the Web for images related to those words, and takes them as input to generate an ambiguous painting, in perpetual change, where elements fuse into each another, in a process analogous to memory and free association.

Leonardo Solaas lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied Philosophy, and is self-taught in everything related to programming, new media art and technology. He worked as a craftsman for more than ten years, but now he earns his life with web site design and development. As a software artist, his work has been featured in many local and international exhibitions, among them ZKM’s Internationaler Medien Kunst Preis, Transmediale 2006 at Berlin, Stuttgarter Filmwinter, Readme 100 Festival at Dormund, and the 5th Bienal do Mercosul at Porto Alegre, Brazil. He has been awarded the most significant prize in new media arts in his country, the Premio Museo de Arte Moderno – Fundación Telefónica.
