Abstract:
The Baghdad Monologue is a music-theater composition for soprano and computer. The spoken part of the text fits in a rhythmic structure provided by the electro-acoustic score which consists of a rich and complex pallet of sounds. The text explores very old political situations that repeat it self throughout the ages: the intervention of the powerful to ‘liberate’ the weak. The focus is on the personal experience of a woman who received this kind of intervention.
