Nervous Structure

Abstract:
The “Nervous Structure” series are interactive installations in which a video projector illuminates a structure made out of strings. A video camera connected to a computer surveys the scene, and if movement from a participant is detected, it is translated into forces that affect the projection, creating an interactive plane of lines that phase in and out of synchronization with the physical structure

Biography:
Annica Cuppetelli and Cristobal Mendoza are Detroit-based artists and collaborators focused on the creation of site-specific, multimedia installations that address issues of space, interaction, and materiality. Our installations combine traditional craft and common materials with interactive digital video projections and computational design processes, and they address the formal qualities of a given site, while creating an interactive and participatory environment.
