Jia-Rey Chang – Ver-meer’s Colors – England/Taiwan

Ver-meer’s Colors is a generative art piece attempting to draw attention to the current severe issue of information bias. Whether it is traditional/new, mass/self-media, the Views First culture within the social network has created a vicious competition making sensational titles of content to gain more clicks. The audience thinks they know the complete picture of certain information by those titles, which is dangerous because people can be easily manipulated for one’s benefit.

Bio

Jia-Rey (Gary) Chang is an artist, designer, researcher, and educator focusing on ‘space as a living being’ and immersive spatial Interaction Design. He received his Ph.D. from the Hyperbody Lab at TU Delft, the Netherlands in 2018. Currently, he is a lecturer in the Medialab, the Queen’s University Belfast, UK. His works cover the trans-disciplinary topics of creative coding, speculative/interactive/parametric design, AI, generative art, and VR/projection immersive environment.
