Krista van der Wilk – Open Registration – Netherlands

This piece uses the realm that exists between human expectations and technological translation of a happening. 17.000 images were taken by a scanner while hanging outside in the open, for days and nights on. The night settling in and the day making itself visible again. Rain, dust, wind, spiders walking and leaves falling, together making an ongoing composition, while we look at the gradations of days and nights through digital eyes.

Krista van der Wilk (NL) is a visual artist working with film, video installation and experimental photography who graduated from the art academy in Amsterdam and worked as a VJ at live events. She is currently working within an environment where experimentation is a big part of daily life. Her work can be experienced as slow paced moving paintings, verging on the abstract.
