Bolim Jeon – In the Belly of a Whale – United Kingdom

As we put ourselves into an “autopilot” mode, we disconnect from our surroundings. These spaces contain quietness, indifference, daydreams, endurance, and idleness. The work presents a bleak train carriage filled with faceless avatars and chaotic chunks of text. It depicts the commute as a liminal experience between arrivals and departures.

Bio: 

Bolim Jeon is a multidisciplinary artist and communication designer based in London. Employing diverse forms of expression, she designs physical and digital artifacts around the theme of mass communication and the social power dynamics embedded in contemporary lives and work. She uses Digital Art to reflect personal experiences and to foster ongoing social problems.
