INSTANT

Abstract:
Video installation, loop 24 minutes. Based on eight photographic portraits of different faces, this experiment in visual perception consists of 35,992 synthetically generated intermediate images, which are the raw material of this “time-based portrait.” The portrait gradually changes in the course of 24 minutes, denying the viewer the familiar possibilities of identifying and memorizing individual human features.
