Lea van Steen & Raquel Kogan – Futuro do Pretérito
Abstract:
The video installation “Futuro do Pretérito”, through customized glasses, transports us to the universe of the visitor. We see what he has seen, the time he used; at the same time, acting over the visitor, we have a sound intervention and one more device that makes him see what’s behind him, a visual memory connected to his future vision.
Biography:
Lea van Steen is a videoartist of advertising films, fiction films and documentaries. Award winning short film “Brincadeira de Criança” – special award in Festival de Cinema de Cuiabá, selected for the Brazilian Film Festival in Miami, Festival de Cinema de Curitiba, Festival Internacional de Curtas de São Paulo, Festival Zinebi de Bilbao, 4th Toronto Latino Film & Video Festival, Short Film Festival of Hungary and Mostra do Audiovisual Paulista; Short film “Refém Vonluntário”; Videodance “Paisagens”, which was part of the 500 years-themed exhibition of BIenal de São Paulo, awarded the II Prêmio Sergio Motta de Cultura. The documentary “A Cidade não hã de Esquecer”, in partnership with Paula Alzugaray, the video DISCO is awarded the Prêmio Sergio Motta- The video “Ponto de Fuga” integrates the exhibition 7th Berlin International Director’s Lounge 2001.
Raquel Kogan, graduated in architecture. She was awarded the Rumos Transmídia award in 2002 with the installation reflexão#1. She started a series of interactive work and space management in digital medium. She was awarded the Rumos Cibernética award and the honorable mention of FILE 2010 PRIXLUX with reler. She participated, in 2012, of the third version of the Creator’s Project in São Paulo with the interactive installation o,lhar.
