Joshua Rodenberg  –  Golden Al Rayan – Qatar

Golden Al Rayan is a capture of moments during the winter months of Doha, Qatar. Trough manipulation of field recordings, a symphony of sounds is built. It is about fleeting moments and the ephemeral nature of sound in general. The sounds are a disappearing language that has no words to guide the narrative. It becomes a memory as soon as it’s heard and lives on as an experience rather than a tangible object.

Joshua Rodenberg is a sound artist, performer, sculptor and educator. He works at Virginia Commonwealth University Qatar. Joshua does sound design for small gaming projects and independent films such as Federico Cuatlacuatl’s Copan En Espera and Amy Youngs’ Belonging to Soil VR experience.
