‘Heart’ is inspired by Tibetan murals, or ‘talking walls’, and their profound impact on the soul, activating ancient Buddhist spiritual teachings with contemporary technology.


Sonia Li’s work delves into her deepest emotional and spiritual reserves to merge her soul for spiritual healing. In 2019, Li won the AFIAS Moving Image Award/Spain. In 2018, she received a grant from the Taiwan Ministry of Culture and was as finalist in the ICIA International New Media Competition (PO). Her video works are shown in international festivals such as Paralelo Dance Festival (PT), Experimental Film Virginia (USA), FILE Festival (BR) and have featured on PBS/WHRO Virginia. In 2017, her multi-sensory installation design for dementia was semi-finalist in the NYU Stern’s Entrepreneur Challenge. Li studied for her BFA in Visual Art at SUNY Purchase.
