Kailum Graves – Cosmos, or A Chronicle of Life’s Incredible Order, Complexity, and Remarkable Struggle Against Entropy and Resistance of Decay – Australia
A five-hour abstract moving landscape of Life, the Universe and Everything painstakingly created frame-by-frame. The aim was to be as scientifically accurate as possible yet visually compelling in the interest of underscoring the interconnectedness and interdependence of all living things. The video attempts to document all ethnicities, heritages, habits, cultures, religions, foods, traditions, histories, races, and nationalities.
Kailum Graves is a multi-disciplinary and conceptual media artist. Through artworks, writing, and curatorial projects, he investigates the hidden and invisible structures of power. While this interest stems from a very personal experience and is a way for him to begin to understand, accept, and deal with his own complex post-traumatic stress disorder (c-PTSD), his work addresses ideas, images, themes, feelings, and symbols which are universally shared.
